About this series

China Unseen is a series that showcases some of the most amazing rural landscapes in the country. People have lived in these rugged areas for thousands of years, but only fairly recently has China opened up to the world, allowing outsiders to explore these beautiful places as well.

Karst mountains, terraced rice fields, and ethnic minority villages are just some of the unique landscapes that I had the chance to photograph while living in China.

This genesis drop focuses on three Southwestern provinces: Yunnan, Guangxi, and Guizhou, and shows the relationship between people and the unique environment they have been living in for a very long time.
